Numbers 13:30 “Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
When God places a desire in your heart, it is always a good one, and the thought of fulfilling this desire excites you. However the challenges to fulfilling these desires usually seem to be more apparent than the rewards. Also, there are always more than enough people around you that will without permission tell you how difficult and impossible the task at hand is.
God’s desire after He had delivered Israel from the bandage of Egypt was for them to enjoy the fullness of His bounty in the land of Canaan. However a careful study of Israel’s failure to take the Promised Land reveals that their attitude and their focus were wrong. Despite all that God had done in the past, they were constantly bitter and always complained towards God (Numbers 16:13). They were quick to forget the manifestations of God’s power in the past. Rather than celebrate God for them, they focused on the problems of the future. Also they were not focused on the word of God.
No matter what it is that is ahead of you. If God laid it on your heart, you are well able. Don’t listen to the naysayers, but look back at what things God has done in your life and celebrate Him for the, and praise Him towards the future. Go one step further and search out from the Scriptures (on google or a Bible concordance) what He has said concerning your current situation. Put your faith to work by focusing on God’s promises and keeping His words in your mouth. As you do these, your faith will rise and the limits of possibility in your life will be redefined for great things.
Act now! Begin to make plans to take on what lies ahead of you. Don’t let your heart’s desire remain unfulfilled because here is a hope for the future, it is good, and you are well able.
