Winning through Praise
written by Moyo Mamora
Psalm 67:5-6 “Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us.”
Praise is the highest expression of your faith. Your praise opens up the ground for manifestation of God’s goodness in our lives. We are of the kingdom of God, so we can praise in advance of what we are expecting. This is a demonstration of faith, it shows the heart condition of the person doing the praising. When you praise, you are extolling the virtues of God as your deliverer, your sustainer, your hero, your comforter, friend, and everything that He is to you.
While prayer gives God the permission to intervene in your life, praise commissions God to fight your battles for you. In 2 Chronicles 20, an army of five nations came to besiege Judah in the time of the reign of Jehoshaphat. After seeking the Lord, the response came through a prophet saying “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them.” The word of God had been received, the military strategy Jehoshaphat employed was to send “those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness” to be in front of the battle line.
Praise is a weapon of warfare. The weapons of our warfare in the Kingdom of God are not earthly, because the battles we fight in reality are spiritual battles. But you can commission God on your behalf by praising Him.
