2 Corinthians 2:14 “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…”
We all have challenges that come against us every day, and as believers, it is important that we know how to win every time. Even in a perfect world, God gave Adam the mandate to be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, and have dominion. To subdue means to put under with force. Why would Adam need this when everything around him was supposedly perfect? Because God knows that even in a perfect situation, it still takes exertion of oneself to keep things perfect. Likewise life today; the sin problem was introduced, and has been properly dealt with in the redemption through the blood of Jesus. Now we can forcefully put under situations that rise up in an attempt to dare us.
1 John 3:8 says for this purpose the Son of God was manifest, that He may destroy all the works of the enemy. So when Jesus finished His redemptive work, satan was indeed defeated. Not only that, but authority was given to the church by which we would act in Jesus’ stead on earth. Though situations may challenge you, and the odds may seemingly be against you, always remember that one with God is a majority. It takes confidence in God and His word to win. If you see yourself as one with God, you will know that the circumstance you face cannot put you under because you and Him can’t both go under.
It is Jesus who leads you in triumph; when the goings gets tough, look on Him, and invokes the authority in the Name and subdue. Confront the situation with what God’s word says in that particular situation, and appropriate it through the use of the Name. You cannot be defeated; He always leads you into a victorious place!
