Ephesians 1:19-21 NKJV “and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”
Did yo know the resurrection was the greatest miracle that the world has ever known. No it was not the creation of the world. God had no opposition when He created the world, but when He was to raise Jesus from the dead, all hell stood against Him. Jesus was bound in hell, satan and his cohorts thought they had won a mighty victory in keeping the Prince of Life bound in the abyss of death (Ps.22:12). However Christ stood victor; “ Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” (Col.2:15).
The resurrection life of God, by the Spirit of God was injected into Jesus (R0m.8:11). It restored power for Him to overcome, sin, death and the power thereof. He was made to be the first begotten from the dead (Col.1:18). Raised up by this power and ascended into the highest place of authority in the universe (Phil.2:9). Even more glorious is the thought that all of that power has been invested in the name of Jesus, and made available to the church for her every want! What a staggering this thought may be to the common mind, but it stands as truth! The same miracle of the resurrection takes place every time a person confesses Jesus as Lord. Salvation is in that name above all names. The confession of the name of Jesus as authority releases the resurrection power to infuse life into the dead nature of the sinner, and break the power of the death grip of satan on the individual.
It was this revelation that Paul prayed that the church comes to in Ephesians 1:17-22 Amplified:
17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
19 And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
20 Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],
21 Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.
22 And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church]
