Jeremiah 33:3 NIV “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’”
The Holy Spirit is given to the believing Christian as an ever present help. He indwells the believer, and though His present is not perceived through the natural five senses, it can be discerned through the spiritual senses. To experience Him daily in our lives, we must first learn to acknowledge His presence at every moment. We must also give Him the Word to work with in our lives. Ephesians 6:17 calls the Word the “sword of the Spirit“. It is the very sword that’s “Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Heb.4:12).
In doing these things, we must also learn to ask for His help. Many fail to realize that God desires to bless them, and desires to help in every situation of life. This was who Jesus was to the disciples. He was their source of help. He counseled them, taught them, defended them, comforted them, helped them, was their standby as needed. That’s why He prayed that the Father send “another comforter”, referring to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is all that to the Christian today. This brings to mind the lyrics of the song What A Friend We Have in Jesus, where it says “O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.”
Our lives will be much more easier and much more fruitful if we will learn to communicate with the Holy Spirit all through the day and seek His help. In every situation, before every decision, ask for His help, wisdom, guidance and direction. Has He not said, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”?
