Exodus 15:26 ““If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.””
The above Scripture gives the idea that God is the one who puts sicknesses on people and then takes it away based on certain criteria. However this is a misleading view on who God is, and that gets a many people in unbelief when they pray. God is not the author of sickness and disease, but Satan is- God cannot sin or do wickedness (Job 34:10). Sickness and diseases are an offshoot of the Adamic sin. It has its roots in Satan, and God by covenant, through Christ Jesus has given us a way to live above sicknesses and diseases.
God is responsible for protecting and healing His people. Detailed research reveals that the statement “I am the LORD who heals you” connotes the idea of physician, healer and health. In essence, one could read that as “I am the LORD your physician” or “I am the LORD your health”. Health and healing is part of the redemption plan, when Jesus died to take away the sins of man, the problem of sickness and diseases was solved (1Pet.2:24)
Now you know God as your physician, and His will is perfect health for your life. The next attack that comes on your body, resist it as if it were sin, because the price had been paid on the cross of Calvary. Declare yourself healthy in the Name of Jesus and maintain that as your testimony. Remember faith calls the things that are not as though they were, say “I am healed” rather than the contrary regardless of how you feel.
