The Doer Shall Be Blessed
James 1:25 NIV “But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”
The preaching and teaching of God’s Word was not intended to be for information, but for the transformation of men. God’s Word is the divine manual for profitable living; revealing divine truths, as well as giving instruction, correction and training (2 Tim.3:16).
The greatest failure of the Christian is in the lack of meditating God’s Word. Many people subconsciously disregard the efficacy of God’s Word in their lives. They mentally assent to the reality of the Word and ability therein, yet they have failed to accept it as truth in their lives. Meditating on God’s Word transforms the thinking, illuminates the soul, and energizes the spirit. Meditation is a process of studying, muttering, memorizing and affirming God’s Word. Meditation builds faith in a person’s heart because faith is developed by the continuous revelation of God’s Word (Rom.10:17).
When you hear or read God’s Word, open your heart to receive understanding. Memorize the relevant Scriptures and think upon them all day. Affirm them as your reality, and constantly be on the lookout for opportunities to put the Word into practice. The Word of God contains in itself the power to produce what it says. When it is internalized, it brings freedom, sets the boundaries of your life, and ultimately it produces fruits of good success.
Scriptures to Meditate: Matt.7:24; 24:35, Isa.55:11, Jer.1:12, 1Pet.2:2
