Romans 8:29 “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
Jesus walked this earth, revealing to the whole of mankind what it means to have full fellowship with the Father. He displayed no special power or characteristic that is beyond the reach of any New Creation believer in Christ today.
Revelations 1:5 “and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.”
Jesus however understood His position of sonship, which understanding the first Adam lacked in the Garden. By this understanding He could walk the earth with all boldness, doing the perfect will (John 5:30) of the Father, and demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit.
Every New Creation in Christ Jesus has been begotten of God, and we are to be conformed to the image of Christ, since He is the first born, the first begotten of the dead. Oh! Indeed “what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1) It is extreme to the common mind to think that one is called a child of God, and has a status of sonship. Many believing Christians are like the first son in the Parable of the lost son, who cringed at the celebration of his brother’s return, his father’s response is God’s heart cry towards his children today, He says “Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.” (Luke 15:31) Wow! What a thought, that behind everyone who calls Himself a son of God are the resources of Heaven, a son has the wealth of the eternities, and the backing of the entire godhead! Selah
This is who we are in Christ Jesus, complete, He is the head and we are the body;
* The limits to our sanctification are as far reaching as Christ Himself (1 Corinthians 6:11)
* The limits to our right standing with the Father are no less than Christ’s for we are clothed with His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21)
* The limits to our wisdom stop at His wisdom for we have His mind (1 Corinthians 2:16)
* The limits to our supernatural abilities stop at the limits to the power He possessed (John 14:12, 13)
The list goes on and on, in Him we are complete, by fellowship with His Spirit we are sons, who have joint sitting with Him.
The depth of true sonship and its understanding can be found in knowledge of:
2. Fellowship (prayer communion)
Jesus constantly confessed His identity in His earth walk, all through the time of His public ministry He confessed Himself, as the Son of God and His purpose, which was the restoration of Eternal Life back to mankind, His confessions proved to be realities!
We have the realities of the New Creation set for us, our confession makes this realities apparent to us. No man can rise above his confession of faith. We ought to confess boldly who we are “in Him”, to ourselves and to the world, which will open the door to tap into this latent power in us.
Likewise in the place of fellowship we draw from this power, “we can approach God with confidence by faith in Him”, and we can boldly declare these “in Him” realities, thereby fueling the power to live a life worthy of the New Creation.
The substance of Faith makes a man act like God, and by Love he is conformed to the image of Christ. We approach Heaven’s throne by faith, and in love, likewise we leave the throne room and conduct our day to day walk on earth by faith and in love (Galatians 5:6). In this lies the mystery of the supernatural lifestyle.
Our mandate today is the dominion mandate given Adam in Genesis 1:26,28 where God said “let us make man…let them have dominion….and God blessed man and said have dominion…” Man was given dominion over this whole earth, and was expected to propagate the Glory that was in Eden. This still holds today, the glorious identity of mankind which was held before the fall has been restored today in Christ, and man has been given authority over all in the Name of Jesus. It is by this Name we exercise our dominion today. Identify who you are in Christ Jesus, boldly confess your identity, and be constant and consistent in prayer and draw virtue from the divine presence to walk in this realities. Then step out in faith and restore the Glory as it was seen in Eden by taking authority in the Name of Jesus.
