Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Jesus not only died physically on the cross but He also died spiritually. He was delivered into hell to suffer the consequences of justice because of the transgressions of humanity. In this He arose victorious over sin, hell and the grave (1 Cor.15:55-57)! He was able to rise again because of the Life infused in Him by the Spirit of God- this is why Jesus is now called the First Begotten from the dead (Rev.1:5, Col.1:18, Rom.8:29).
Think about it, His spirit was regenerated with life, everything that was broken in His body was restored, every dead organ in His body was infused with life. Such that all mortality in His flesh was swallowed in immortality (1 Cor.15:54).
The Bible suggests to us the thought that in every born again Christian, that the same resurrection life indwells us. Is it any wonder why the Apostle Paul prays the following in Ephesians 1:17-20:
“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know…the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead…”
This is a prayer to pray daily so you can embrace the same immortal life that dwells in you, and by which all limitations in your life can be swallowed up. As you ponder on this, also consider Romans 8:11 that reveals the same resurrection life of Christ dwells in the heart of a believer and will quicken the believer with life.
