Psalm 16:8 NKJV “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved”
Our priorities in life usually determine what’s most important to us. When Moses was on assignment from God to take the children of Israel into the Promised Land, he said to God ‘If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. ” He understood that setting God first is the surest way for success in all that needs to be done. David said “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved”.
God’s presence gives us confidence in all we do. If we learn to keep a consciousness of God’s presence, setting Him first in all that we do, success will be ours. Genesis 39:2 reveals concerning Joseph, even while he was in prison that the Lord was with him, therefore he was successful. When we put God first, He promises, “I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.” (Isa.45:2)
When we put the Lord first, we also have a promise of direction. He has said He will instruct us and lead us in the way to go, and guide us accordingly (Ps.32:8). Isaiah 48:21 reveals that even while He led Israel through the wilderness, they did not thirst. He fed them with manna and gave them sweet water to drink from the rocks.
In whatever you’re going to do, be sure to ask God to be involved. Put His Word first. Ensure your decisions are in line with what the Bible teaches. Follow the inward witness of your heart. Always check to be sure you are in the will of God. Acknowledge Him in all you do
