Philippians 3:12, 14 NKJV “…but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.… I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
One of the secrets to a progressive life is to continually set goals outside of your comfort zone and commit yourself to attaining them. Everything that you truly desire in life is just outside your comfort zone. You may have made it as far as the edges, but there is an extra step of faith needed for you to breakout. If you look to your own strength you are limited. However, as a believer in Christ, you have an unlimited wealth of resources that God has placed within you. The power of the risen Christ is unlimited, surpassing and inexhaustible, and it is available to you (Eph. 1:17-19).
Despite the hardships faced during his missionary trips, the apostle Paul was always seeking to go the extra mile for the sake of the gospel. (Rom.1:11-13) He traveled over 9000 miles; there were no airplanes, cars, busses and engine powered ship, yet he said, “I press on…”.You must push yourself to the limit so you can break the shell of potential that keeps you trapped at your current level. You must push to attain higher goals. You must challenge yourself to exceed the limits of your past successes.
When your emotions and your past failures try to tell you to relax, you must be the one to motivate yourself to take action. When your past achievements give you a rationale to take a break, you must be the one to inspire competition with yourself and break your past record. Never stop making progress, and never stop willing. It is the person who wills and keeps on willing who wins.
