2 Chronicles 26:5 NKJV “He [Uzziah] sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.”
Scripture records that during Uzziah’s reign, there were great armies, inventions, buildings and prosperity (2 Chron.26). However the fifth verse of the chapter reveals the secret to all these great things that happened in the time of Uzziah, “He sought God…and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.”
We see something similar in 1 Kings 3, after Solomon had sacrificed a thousand burnt offerings to God, God revealed Himself to Solomon asking what he desired, and Solomon’s response was for wisdom to lead (v.9). God responded saying “You have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.” (1 Kin.3:10-13).
Everything you desire to succeed at starts with knowing how to proceed with a solution. God is the all knowing God, and He can give you answers to the most complex problems you will ever face. James reveals that He gives wisdom liberally without any restraint to those who ask in faith (Jam.1:5). Therefore in all you do, ask for wisdom. Like Solomon, state the case before God and ask for wisdom to handle the matter, and God is sure to keep His promise of bestowing wisdom.
