Proverbs 16:9 “ A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.”
Did you ever stop to think that the success of your life is determined by you? God ultimately wants all His children to succeed, as a matter of fact He has predestined each and every one of us for a glorious destiny (Romans 8:38-30). The question is if every child of God is determined to reach that glorious destiny. Proverbs makes it clear that a man’s heart plans. At least we ought to plan, but do we all make plans?
Plans need to be put in place by us mapping out how we reach the fullness of our calling. There are two extremes however to plan, some make no plans at all and say “my life is in God’s hands”…this is plainly irresponsible, because we ought to plan. The other extreme are those that plan their lives to the point where they give no room to God to intervene and lead them. The balance is in recognizing that guidance is of God. We make plans, but however we yield ourselves to constant conformity to the will of God. And this means that if we perceive in our hearts that God would have us go in a different direction, we ought to follow, even though that means a change of plans. However if we have peace in our hearts with no conviction in a certain direction, then do all you know to do by following your plans, trusting God and being ready to yield to His plans.
Start planning our life, starting from your day, and daily pray a prayer of consecration saying “Lord I submit my plans and my will to you, and I permit you to speak in my life, and lead in my life…Amen”
