Psalms 119:130 “The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”
Many of us have experienced the illustration of a person in a dilemma, trying so hard to find a solution, and suddenly there’s a pause, and a light bulb gets turned on. Now you know what to do, you know who to call, you know the steps to make etc. Inspiration is a spiritual experience, when we’re able to quiet our minds down, we get that “eureka” moment. This is because it is inside our inner-man that we hold all the solutions to life. Men who have learned to let their spirits find expression have been at the pinnacle of innovation and problem solving.
Job 32:8 says there is a spirit (inner-man) in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding. When we get inspiration, understanding comes. Understanding helps in learning and providing solutions. In learning to quiet our minds, so our spirits find expression, the first and foremost thing to do is to plant the seed of God’s word in your heart. You do this by paying attention to what God’s word says concerning the circumstance you may be in. It is when the word of God breaks loose within us that we receive understanding. We begin to see through a different set of eyes, and there’s clarity. When we’re in a dilemma, our minds focus on the circumstances for so long and it begins to compute various solutions mainly by trial and error so as to bring us out. This is why many times if you’re looking for your keys you begin to check awkward places like the refrigerator and cereal box.
Put the word of God in front of your eyes, and look at what God’s word says until it begins to sink into your heart. Quiet your mind down, while affirming God’s word, and do this until your mind is completely quiet. When you’re at this point, ask God for the answer to your current dilemma, and confidently and patiently expect a response as you go about your regular business. It is worth more doing this than spending ours cracking your head for a solution. This way will save you time and stress.
