Deuteronomy 8:3 “So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.”
For most people, any time lack arises, immediately the thought of a material need rises so as to meet the perceived need. However in the Scripture above, God allowed Israel to experience some lack in the wilderness journey into Canaan and the purpose was to teach the Nation that “man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord”. This was written as an example for us today that we may learn the ways of God (Romans 15:4).
When there is a material need in life, the primary solution is found in the word of God. Manna was supplied supernaturally on a daily basis. It was a perfect diet for Israel, it was gathered, ground, cooked and cakes were made from it. It had the taste of the freshness of oil (Numbers 11:8). In essence the word of God should be taken in daily, meditated on, mulled over, and acted upon. It’s in doing this we experience the taste of God’s supernatural anointing released.
The word of God is the foundation of all material that we detect with our natural senses. It’s by the word of God spoken in faith that the world was framed, thereby producing the seen realties of this world which were already in existence as unseen realities by faith (Hebrews 11:3). Likewise on a day to day basis we ought to have a daily intake of the Word, spoken in faith into every area of lack. This ought to be the lifestyle of all of God’s children. It is a life of the supernatural!
When there’s a need, find out what God’s word says about the situation, mediate there in, think upon it, and continually speak it, and then you will see that the perceived lack will be filled with material from the word of God.
