Ephesians 1:11 NKJV “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will”
Imagine watching a James Bond movie for the second time along with someone who is just watching the same movie for the very first time. There will be a greater degree of calmness you have compared to the other person who is watching the movie for the very first time. You’re calm and assured of good things to come because you know exactly how the movie ends. This is how God looks at us when we go through the ups and downs of life. Scripture records that God has predestined us for a good end (Jer.29:11). God has seen the end, and as far as it depends on Him, your life is good. You may not feel like that’s true currently, and this is exactly why God expects you to put your trust in Him.
Proverbs 16:3 says we should commit our plans to God and He will cause our thoughts to be in alignment with His, and our plans will succeed. It also says in Proverbs 3:5,6 that if we trust in the Lord with all our hearts, leaning not on our own understanding, He will direct our paths. God is committed to the good things He has planned for our lives, and for as long as we are committed to trusting Him, the end is sure to be good. The Scripture above in Ephesians 1:11 makes us understand that God works all things out according to His will. This means that as you trust God, even though you may take a wrong turn, God will take that situation and fit it into the plan.
See your life as an “action movie”. Have the confidence that whatever it is you may be going through, you are the star of the movie and you will come out on top. Your responsibility is to trust God. Each step of the way, acknowledge that God is working in your life. Be confident in the fact that you have a purpose in God, and for as long as you are committed to fulfilling that purpose, your life will end up good. No matter what challenge you’re faced with, be calm, trust God, because “…all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according toHis purpose.” (Rom.8:28)
