Matthew 13:33 “Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.”
Jesus told this parable to highlight the influence of the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God refers to the domain (that is rule, influence, administration) of God. This kingdom has been planted in the hearts of everyone who believes in Christ (Luke 17:21). In essence, all that heaven represents has been placed on the inside of you. This is a spiritual reality, however many people fall short of experiencing the vitality of this truth. Like the embassy of the United States in the UK is not bound by the laws and economic circumstances there, the economic conditions of this earth and its systems ought not be a limitation for every carrier of the kingdom of God.
In going further to understand the parable of the leaven, we know that since the kingdom of heaven is like leaven, it follows that every believer is the leaven (for we carry the kingdom of heaven within) and the measures of flour represents the world. Planted in the world, we (the Church- the body of Christ) ought to be influencing the world. Every individual has their own world. Your world represents your surroundings, the people you have daily contact with, and the situations you are exposed to daily. It is your mandate to be the influence in your world. This is what Jesus demonstrated in His earthly ministry.
He influenced by faith, and likewise we ought to be influence in our world by faith. Jesus by faith understood how to commit heaven’s resources to meet the demands of every situation He faced upon the earth. Likewise you ought to be able to take hold of God’s word in prayer and invoke the provision of heaven’s resources through the Name of Jesus in order to meet daily demands. Not for ourselves, but for the sake of the world we are in. Further in Jesus’ teachings He proclaims a key to the kingdom of God is in binding and loosing. Another translation renders that what you sanction as proper, heaven agrees, and what you sanction as improper, heaven agrees with (Matthew 16:19).
Begin to see yourself as the influencer. Don’t just ignore your own world, but take God’s word back to Him prayer, and begin to sanction in accordance to the Word as proper and improper.
