Genesis 15:5 NKJV “Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.””
Big faith for big dreams. God has called you and I to have big dreams. When God spoke to Abraham about being the father of many descendants, he had no children, and he couldn’t see how it would happen (Gen.15:2). God had to work on Abraham’s imagination. He took him out to count the stars and the sand grains on the seashore. But most importantly, God cut covenant with Abraham to give him a guarantee of His promise.
There are dreams and aspirations God has placed in the heart of everyone of us, but we are like Abraham in that even though these are things we desire, we just don’t see how it will happen. The first thing for you to do is to work on your imagination. Never let a day go by without visualizing the dreams, visions and aspirations God has placed in your heart. One can imagine that everyday Abraham stepped out at night he saw the starry skies and he was reminded of God’s promise. Not only that, he must have traveled the sandy dessert and remembered the same.
In Matthew 9:28, two blind men asked Jesus to give them their sight. Jesus responded by asking them, “Do you believe I’m able to do this?” Jesus put the responsibility back on them. Without hesitation they answered, “Yes, Lord!” As you visualize God’s dream in your heart, sincerely ask yourself this question: Do I really believe God is able to do this? If you can’t immediately answer “Yes, Lord!” You’re not ready. Because God will perform only in accordance with your faith. (Matt. 9:29)
So, how do you develop your faith level to match your dream level? You must strengthen your ability to believe God. God has given us the ability to do so by His Word. Romans 10:17. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Faith will grow as you spend time hearing God’s Word. If you want to achieve big dreams with God, make sure you spend countless hours hearing what God’s Word has to say about it. Like Abraham, we have a covenant with God through which we have a strong consolation that His Word will come to pass in our lives (Heb.6:12-19)
