Proverbs 24:16 NKJV “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again…”
In life, you will face obstacles that will challenge you, and if dealt with improperly, they can keep you grounded forever. You will face failures, but you must learn to deal with them effectively and with the right attitude. John Maxwell in his book Failing Forward says, “The difference between average people and achieving people is their perception of and response to failure.” Your response to the circumstances of your life has everything to do with how much of life you will enjoy and whether you will succeed in life.
The devil works overtime to sell a lie to you by telling you that your failure is fatal, that your mistakes are detrimental to your future and you will never recover. God is the one who holds the future in His hands and Jeremiah 29:11 says He has good plans for you, full of hope, that will bring you to an expected end. All through Scripture, God has a resume of choosing what others consider foolish to shame the wise, and the weak to shame the strong (1 Cor.1:27). It is up to you to look ahead with a sense of purpose. Have the resolve that you will succeed despite your past. Rise from the ashes of your past failures. Change your outlook on the situations and challenges that may come against you. Look for the gaps in wisdom, and commit yourself to increase in knowledge to tackle the situation. Be persistent.
Recognize that you only fail when you draw your last breath in life without an additional attempt at success. Solomon in his wisdom puts it best, “Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” (Eccl.9:4 NIV)
