1 Samuel 17:46, NIV “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head.”
Faith can be defined as a practical demonstration of your confidence in God and his word. 1 John 5:4 reveals that faith leads us to victory. David’s victory over Goliath was by faith. In the story of David and Goliath, you will see that David at different times spoke of Goliath’s defeat. He openly declared beforehand exactly how Goliath would be killed. This was a demonstration of his faith, because the spirit of faith not only believes, but it also speaks accordingly (2 Cor.4:13). In the story, you will notice that when Goliath hurled one insult at David, David responded with four statements of faith (1 Sam.41-47).
You have a responsibility not to leave any provocation against your destiny unanswered. In Mark 11:14 Scripture reveals that Jesus“responded” to the fig tree when he realized it did not have fruits. The fig tree though inanimate must have said something to Jesus. Likewise the challenges in your life are constantly saying something in defiance to you: ‘you’re broke, you’re hopeless, you’re jobless, you’re unproductive, you’re unintelligent etc’. You must make sure you don’t leave these challenges unanswered. Rather than tremble in fear and get depressed, speak boldly in faith.
Faith is a product of the word of God taking root in your heart. Realize that you have the covenant backing of God through the blood of Jesus. This means that God stands with you against any of life’s challenges. Find out what God’s word has said, and in the face of adversity boldly declare exactly what would happen.
