Mark 9:23, NIV “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
When the father of the paralytic brought his son to Jesus, he had told Jesus how His disciples could not heal the boy. He then said to Jesus “But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” (Mark 9:22). Jesus responded, “If you can?” This man made the common mistake of transferring the responsibility of believing for solutions to Jesus. Jesus had to teach him that possibilities in life are dependent on a person’s own ability to believe.
Many people faced with problems don’t know what they believe. Their believing is abstract and therefore they remain stuck. Recognize that the limitations that keep you bound are because of your limited belief. To believe means to be convinced about the possibility or the reality of something. For Christians, believing must be based on the realities and possibilities of God’s Word. True believing inspires one to action.
Search your heart to find out what you really believe. Believe God’s word, and dare to believe big because your success is determined by the size of your belief. If you think little goals and expect little achievements, then that’s what you will get. When you believe something can be done, really believe (definite, specific and based on God’s word), God will lay on your heart ways by which the solution will come. Your believing paves the way to a solution.
