A New Life in Christ (3)
Psalm 62:11 NIV “Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God”
When God speaks to you, His Words always have a much deeper meaning. The Word of God should not be dealt with only on a superficial level. When He said my thoughts are not your thoughts He was speaking to those that don’t know Him. As a Christian, you are in relationship with God, and it expected that the things of God should not be a mystery to you. In Matthew 13:11, Jesus said to His disciples, “it is given to you to know the mystery of the kingdom of God.” Everything God intends for us is trapped in a mystery, but never is it intended for it to remain mysterious till we transition to heaven. He has spoken in His Word, “call to me and I will answer, I will show you great and mighty things that are hidden” (Jer.33:3).
If we can change the way we think, our outlook on life will be much different. For many it seems like prayers don’t get answered because they still hold on to a way of thinking that does not line up with God’s Word. This is why prayer must always be based on God’s Word and never on the basis of the circumstance that we face.
As you pray to God for a transformed life, be sure to be praying based on what God’s Word has said. As you repeat His Word to Him in prayer, it reinforces the truth in your heart, and the power of God is able to change your outlook, and thereby change your life.
