Colossians 1:27 “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
The revelation of the indwelling of Christ is tagged mystery that has been hidden for ages. This is a reality that forms the foundation for the Christian faith, it’s the truth concerning the resurrected Jesus indwelling the spirit of the New Creature in the person of the Holy Spirit. This goes beyond a statement of religion; Christ has died, He’s risen, He’s ascended and now He’s seated, what does that mean to you? Acts 17:28 says “for in Him we live and move and have our being”. The consciousness of the indwelling presence of Christ is one we have to keep as believers day by day. Notice how Colossians 2:6 elaborates on the importance of this truth, saying “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in [the consciousness of] Him. This means to become aware of a new environment we entered into at New Birth. It’s living a consciousness that the Christ and the fullness of His anointing is alive in me. This means that the greater one is in me (1 John 2:20), all things are possible (Philippians 4:13), the wisdom of the Ages is in me (Colossians 2:3), the power of the resurrection is in me (Romans 8:11), all that pertains to death (sin, sickness and poverty) is rendered harmless against me (Romans 8:2) and an immeasurable supply of God’s ability is at work in me (Ephesians 3:16). Would you dare to boldly confess, “Christ is in me”, with the image of you breaking through all limitations? This means that failure is not your destiny! I stop to examine the thought that the Spirit of God suggests to us through Paul’s writing in Ephesians 1:17-20
“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places“
He calls the resurrection of Jesus the greatest display of God’s power (verses 19 and 20), and one would have to agree, since all of hell stood against this, but our Lord arose victorious, however He says this is what’s available in you. This power is not just resident in you, it is available for you. It is immeasurable, unlimited and surpassing power in and for you. No wonder He prays that we would have the spirit of revelation to grasp this truth. It’s only by faith we can understand this to be our inheritance, but a lack of faith in this reality has left many weak in the Church. Many have been afraid to boldly declare this truth over their lives, your confession of faith brings possession.
Stir your faith in this truth so as to build an awareness of its reality. Let this truth dominate your thinking, think divine life not sickness, think resurrection ability not failure, think unlimited wisdom not confusion, think dominion and not defeat, this is Christ in you, and surely you would work this earth as a god!
