Build Wealth Slowly

Proverbs 28:20 NKJV “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”

The world we live in today is plagued with people who attempt to become wealthy overnight. People work hard hours, play the lottery, are always looking for the next great deal that will make them a millionaire. Solomon shares the wisdom of God here, when he says “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”

Faithfulness speaks of consistency. The principles of wealth creation seem not to make sense as they are not a ‘quick fix’ for any financial predicament that you may find yourself in. But if myriads of successful people say the principles work, wisdom dictates that we listen and follow suit. Wealth creation requires discipline, diligence and consistency, and there seems to be no substitute for these in truly becoming wealthy.

If we search through the Bible, building from the lesson on Money Foundations, one will see that the Bible prescribes a mix of diligent hard work, giving, saving, and investing as a way to become wealthy. Ultimately God is the source of all wealth. It is He that gives the power to be wealthy (Deut.8:18). As we follow the principles laid out in His Word for wealth creation, we will ultimately experience the manifestation of this blessing in our lives.

Giving Deut.15:10; 16:17, Prov.3:27; 21:26; 22:9;28:27, Luk.6:38; Acts 2:35

Hard work Prov.10:4-5; 13:4; 14:23 ;12:14, 2 Thes.3:10

Remember that the key to success in these areas is consistency over a long period of time. Read up on the money foundations, and make these principles of giving, saving, investing and hard work a part of your life, and you will see the results over time!
