Genesis 1: 26,28 NKJV “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over [all]… Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over [all]””
God created mankind in His image and after His likeness, and commanded that they be fruitful. To be fruitful means to yield and produce in abundance. This will suggest to us that Adam had been given a task in which he was supposed to produce yield in abundance. We get a clue from Genesis 2:15, “Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it”. Eden means delight, prosperity and abundance, where God’s presence rests, and Adam’s responsibility was to attend, cultivate and keep Eden, so that Eden will be spread beyond its original limits.
The blessing is the anointing from God that would enable Adam be fruitful in this area of assignment. Hence the blessing helps create an atmosphere of heaven, a place of delight, prosperity and abundance filled with the presence of God. Ephesians 1:3 reveals that all who are in Christ are blessed. The same empowerment that was on Adam to be fruitful and multiply is on you, and the same mandate in Genesis 1:28 exists. In whatever you are doing in life, God expects that you live by the blessing. By cultivating the blessing, you are creating the atmosphere that brings delight, and an abundance of prosperity filled with God’s presence.
Are you dealing with difficult situations in your environment? If so, invoke the blessing. Successful Christian living is to live by the blessing of God. Speak by faith that the blessing is producing fruit. Let the indwelling presence of God overflow from your heart to your surrounding Let your worship be expressed through the work of your hands. In all you do, honor God, it is in so doing that we are able to experience the full delight of Eden in our day to day living.
