3 John 2 NKJV “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
The blessing of the Lord is God’s anointing for a person to live a good (rich) life (Prov.10:22a). Riches here are not limited to money or material wealth, but it also speaks of satisfaction, soundness, health. In essence, the rich life by the blessing is the life that Jesus talks about in John 10:10 AMP, “…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)”. Scripture also goes on to reveal that this life of opulence is not a product of toilsome labor. (Prov.10:22b)
You must first recognize that your prosperity in life starts with the prospering of your mind. A rich man is not one who has stacked up material wealth, but it is a person who has learned to recognize opportunities to create value all around. One can have money laid up in an account and still be poor. There are people who work so many hours in a day, and make a lot of money, but they are too tired to enjoy their income; income being made is spent paying huge bills, managing stress and injury because of extraneous work conditions. While they may be working hard enough to generate a good income, there are those are not able to raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
The mind of the blessed understands that it is the Lord’s blessing that produces the good life. This means putting the Word of God first (Jam.1:25); in your life, finances, relationships, service to God etc. Although hard work is very important, developing your potential and increasing your capital, it is not the source of the good life. The one who is truly blessed enjoys satisfaction, and is always looking for opportunities to improve the life of others.
