If you are just starting out and are trying to get yourself into a better position financially, I would suggest spending the next couple months and checking off as many things on this list as possible. If you do that you will be on your way to financial freedom!
This is not a chronological step-by-step process, but like the title suggests it is just a checklist. If you do decide to step out, pray and do it in God’s timing. Don’t just run out and quit your job – use wisdom and be patient, God’s ways seem to take a while sometimes. Plan for the worst case scenarios, and pray for the best case!

The value of biblical wisdom is that it is transcendent. It does not need to be changed when new tax laws are passed. It stays the same with each new administration. It can be relied upon by every generation, regardless of income or net worth. These are 5 verses that, even as I just scratch the surface of understanding them, have revolutionized my financial life.
