Act in faith
Judges 16:20, NKJV “…So he awoke from his sleep, and said, “I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free!” But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.”
The anointing of God is the empowerment of God upon a man to do God’s work on earth. If you are a believer in Christ Jesus, then you are anointed (2 Cor.1:21). Romans 8:19 reveals that the world is awaiting the manifestation of the sons of God. These are people who are born of God, and are anointed by His Holy Spirit. Reading further to verse 22, the Scriptures describe the world’s reaction―the disasters, confusion, darkness etc―as labor pangs to birth out the sons of God. It takes the Lord’s anointed sons (and daughters) to deliver solutions to the world. However, there is a problem, you don’t feelanointed.
Judges 13-16 gives the account of Samson as judge over Israel. He was anointed by God, and he did great exploits against the philistines. Due to his character flaw, he fell into a trap by his enemies, and the anointing departed from him. Knowing their trap worked, the philistines came to capture him. Samson being bound by chains intended to arise in his usual manner, break the chains, and engage the philistines in battle, but, “…he did not know that the Lord had departed from him”. This suggests to the reader that Samson did not check with his feelings to know if he as anointed or not. In essence, there was not a feeling of being anointed or not. He had always acted with confidence, knowing that the anointing will kick in on his behalf.
You are anointed! You are the solution your world needs! You may not feel anointed, but it is your responsibility toknow you are anointed and act anointed. Ephesians 1:13 says you have been sealed with the Holy Spirit. This is a major difference between the New Testament and the Old Testament; in the New Testament, we have an ever abiding anointing. Your responsibility is to grow in the anointing, and whilst you’re doing that, keep acting with confidence. Rather than wait for your feelings to validate God’s anointing on your life, act in faith, knowing God is with you. He has promised never to leave you or forsake you, and to be an ever present help to you (Heb13:5, 6).
