2 Corinthians 2:14 “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…”
We all have challenges that we face from time to time, and as believers it is important that we know how to win every time. When God put man in the Garden, God gave him the mandate to be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, and have dominion (Gen.1:28). To subdue means to put under with force. Why would Adam need to put anything under with force when everything around him was supposedly perfect? God knows that the devil is constantly looking to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). It takes God given empowerment to exert over demon forces.
Victory has already been ascribed to the believing Christian. 1 John 3:8 reveals that Jesus, the Son of God, was given to the world that He may destroy all the works of the enemy. Satan is not a concern for the one who has come to an understanding of his/her position in Christ. He has no power over such a person. All he has are tricks which the light of God’s word exposes.
Though situations may challenge you, and the odds may seemingly be against you, always remember that you are in covenant with God through Christ Jesus, and one with God is a majority. It takes confidence in God and His word to win. If you see yourself as one with God, you will know that the circumstance you face cannot put you under because you and God cannot both go under.
It is Jesus who leads you in triumph. When the going gets tough, look on Him, and make use of what has been given for your dominion. Invoke the power of God by the authority in the Name of Jesus. Confront the situation with what God’s word says in that particular situation, and appropriate it through the use of the Name. You cannot be defeated; He always leads you into a victorious place!
