2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but…[that] of a sound mind.”
Many times what hinders us from achieving the desires of our hearts is fear. Fear is an emotion that rises up because of an apparent threat to the life of an individual. Fear never produces anything good in the lives of people. It seeks to keep one entrapped in what’s comfortable. However, it takes faith to conceive an idea and bring it into manifestation. It is by faith we step in to the realm of the unknown and conquer.
Most times, the shortcomings we face in life are a result of misplaced fear. There isn’t necessarily any threat to our lives and security, but our faith is weakened because of a lack of information. Faith gets stronger based on how much we know. The highest level of information is the revelation that God’s Word brings. Also because of inadequate planning we fall short in accomplishing goals. Whatever the fear is, you must know that it is not from God. It is the enemy of our souls speaking negativity to your mind, attempting to keep you from your goal. This was Paul’s exhortation to Timothy; don’t be timid because God has not given you a spirit of fear…
The solution is simple, according to James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” Ask God for the wisdom needed to execute a task, He freely gives, and He is inclined to make available all the wise counsel that is necessary. Go in search of all relevant knowledge and information that will contribute to the success of what you desire to accomplish. There is no substitute for acquiring knowledge and seeking relevant application. Proverbs 24:4 (Living Bible) says, “Any enterprise is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts.”
